Adam does not want to go to jail with me

Below is part of my conversation with Adam today, April 5, at 8 am

We just dropped off Ashley in her school. We went back to the UPLB field, and we parked the car near Milka Krem store (besides Baker Hall), and then we walked, to come closer and watch the construction going on.

me:  Adam, see there. There are 7 concrete mixer trucks there and they are pouring cement onto the fifth floor of that building.

Adam:  No, there are 10 mixer trucks, not 7.  (He counted again, and he saw three more mixer trucks parked about 100 meters away.)

Adam:  I enjoy watching this.  It is cool.

me:  Yes, you are right, there are 10 mixer trucks. See that Truck number 1, it is now pouring cement into the black-and-yellow Pump, which pumps the cement mix to the 5th floor using a long pipe attached to a crane.

Adam:  Yes, let us come closer, I want to see it.  (We walked closer to the construction site so he can observe the work of the builders).

Adam:  Why did the pouring stopped?  I wonder what is the problem.

me:  Maybe they have a problem up there, and the Engineer want to stop it muna.

Adam:  The Engineer up called up the operator and asked him to stop because there is a problem.  (Then we watch, to observe what is the problem).

me:  Look, they are moving down the pump, and bringing it down.

Adam:  Maybe, that is the real problem.  Maybe it is clogged with cement and they need to clean it first.

me:  Yes, maybe you are right, they will bring the pump down, and clean it first with plenty of water, then bring it up again, and restart the pouring

Adam:  Yes, I think that is what they will do. Someday, I will be a builder too, an engineer.

Adam is so fascinated with the construction process that we stayed there for about 15 minutes, just watching.  Then, we walked towards the parking area. He is very happy.  It is his first time to see cement mixer trucks pouring cement into a building.

================

Then, Adam saw a white small dump truck picking up garbage bags, from the trash bins in the field.

Adam:  Let us watch that truck. It is picking up all the trash bags.

me: Yes.  (then we stood there under the acacia tree observing how the truck picked up the trash bags).

Adam: This is cool.  This is my first time to see a truck picking up trash bags.

================

Then, we went back to the car, we shall go to the waiting shed near the Economics Building because I need to pick up an ordered item from a supplier.  On our way to there, I came to a corner.

me:  Adam, can you see that sign on the post?  It says "No Left Turn".

Adam:  why does it say No Left Turn?

me:  Maybe, because they dont want many cars going into that road. That is part of the rules, of the law, we need to obey the law.  If I  violate the law, then the policeman will catch me and bring me to jail.
Adam, do you want to go with me inside the jail?

Adam:  No.  I dont want.

me:  Are you sure?

Adam:  I don't want to go to jail with you.

me:  hahahahaha.  so I will be in jail alone?

Adam:  hmmmmm,  I love you lolo.

me:  what did you say?

Adam:  I love you lolo.

me:  (I just smiled.)

Adam is commiserating with me, by expressing his love for me.  He  feels pity for me. but he does not want to go to jail. :)

When I am already 66 years old . . . .

Below is part of my conversation with Adam today, March 29, 11 am.

me:  Oh no, my gas level is now very low. Adam, can you see that warning light?

Adam:  Yeah.  What is that?

me:  It is warning light, telling me that my gas is too little na. I need to go now to a gas station.

Adam:  If we ran out of gas, we will be in trouble. The car will not move.

me:  Yes, we need to go now to a gas station. If we ran out of gas, we will be in trouble. Who will help us?

Adam:  My daddy will help us.

me:  Yes, he can come and bring us some gasoline.

Adam:  No, he cannot give you gasoline from his car to your car. It is not possible.

me:  No, what I mean is that your daddy will buy gasoline and put it in a container, bring the container to me, and then we will put the gasoline into the tank of my car.

Adam: Ah OK.  (he now understood how it is done)

=============

When we are done loading gasoline at the Petron gas station inside UPLB, I started driving, but I noticed that my seat belt is not on. Adam always reminds me to put my seat belt on.

me:  Oh, I forgot to put on my seat belt. I am becoming forgetful.

Adam:  Yes, I always remind you to put on your seat belt.

me:  Yes. Thank you.

Adam:  When I am already 66 years old, maybe I will always forget to put my seat belt too.

me:  Hahahahaha  (ang lakas ng tawa ko)

=========

Adam made me laugh.   He can make a joke na :)

Adam will hug Matteo tightly

Below is part of my conversation with Adam today, March 29.

me:  Adam, yesterday, you told me that you miss Matteo. Do you remember that?

Adam:  yeah, I remember that.  When I see Matteo, I will hug him tightly because I love him very much.

me:  wow.  You will see Matteo in Japan, when we go there in a few months time.  You will see Natasha too.  Will you hug Natasha too?

Adam:  Yeah.

========

me:  Adam, what is that?  (I pointed to an armored truck, coming on the opposite lane)

Adam:  Armored truck.

me:  What does it contain?

Adam:  Money!!

me:  There are also policemen or guards inside the armored truck, and they have guns.  They will shoot at the bad guys if they try to steal the money.

Adam: Yeah, they should shoot the bad guys because they do bad things.

=========

me:  Adam, guess what time we will arrive in your school (the time is 7.50 am and we are just 100 meters away from the school)

Adam:  7.50

me: hmm, maybe 7.51

Adam:  no, 7.50   hhhhmmmmm  (he makes a sound while we are slowing down and parking)

me:  wow Adam, you are correct!  we arrived at 7.50.

Adam:  ha ha ha ha (very happy)

=========

Adam is developing a high EQ (emotional quotient) and he is verbally expressive about his love and fondness for Matteo.  He likes to hug the people he loves.  He also knows that it is bad to steal money.  🙂

Adam misses Matteo, his cousin

Here are some snippets of my conversation with Adam today, March 28, while we were traveling, going to his school:

me:  Adam, did you enjoy your birthday yesterday?

Adam:  Yes, it was fun. I miss Matteo.

me:  Ahh yes, Matteo, I remember that whenever Matteo was with us, inside this car, he always sing the song "I like to eat, eat, apples and bananas".

Adam:  I miss him because we love to play together.  Both of us love cars.

me:  Yeah, because you are both boys, and boys love cars. You have the same interest.

Adam:  When I see Matteo, I will hug him.  We always hug each other.

me:  Is that a group hug?

Adam:  Yes, we do a group hug.

me:  But, Matteo called up yesterday, di ba?

Adam:  Yes.  I told him that it is my birthday.

We played a guessing game again. The time is 7.42 am. We are about 120 meters away pa from the school.

Adam:  I think we will arrive at 7.42

me:  Maybe, it will be 7.43 because we are not yet near you school.

Adam:  7.42

Then, we stopped at exactly 7.42 am.

me:  Adam, you were right, we arrived exactly at 7.42.

Adam:  (smiling)  Tomorrow, let us play the guessing game again.

Then, he went down the car smiling, because he wants to win again tomorrow in our little guessing game 🙂

What is a Bus Stop?

This morning,  March 21, 2023, below is my conversation with Adam while we are traveling, inside the car, going to his school:

me:  mamaya, I will bring your Ninang Maila to the Bus Stop because she is going to Manila today.  Adam, do you know what a "Bus Stop" means?

Adam:  Yeah, I know.  A Bus Stop is a place where people wait, they wait for the bus to come, and when the bus comes, they go inside the bus and go.

me: wow, you are smart Adam. You know pala what a "Bus Stop" means.

Adam:  Yeah, it is like a Train Stop, same thing, but it is a train that comes, not a bus.

me: you are a smart boy, Adam.

Adam smiles.

Our new guessing game

Some snippets of my conversations with Adam last March 22, 2023:

me: you know, mamaya, I will go to the barber shop because my hair is long na.  Adam, do you know what a Barber Shop is?

Adam:  Yeah.  It is a place where boys get their hair cut.

me:  Yes, that is correct.  Have you been inside a barber shop?

Adam:  Yeah, I remember that time.

me:  Yeah, I brought you with me to that barber shop (in Opal Street)  and you were sitting on the bench while the barber cuts my hair.

Adam:  Yeah, I remember that.

------
We are playing a little game inside the car. We try to guess what is the exact time of our arrival in Adam's school, when I fully stops in front of the school.

me:  Guess what time we will arrive in your school.

Adam: (looks at the clock, which says 7.45 am) I think it will be 7.47

me:  I guess it will be 7.46.

Adam:  I guess 7.47

me:  we are now very close to your school, so, it will be 7.46 (the clock shows 7.46).

But at the exact time of our arrival, the clock clicked to 7.47

me:  Oh, Adam, it is 7.47. You are right Adam.

Adam:  (he just laughed aloud)

He went down the car very happy.

Conversations with Adam - hindi naawa sa lolo na nasa jail

Some snippets of my conversations with Adam last Wed, March 22, 2023

When I picked up Adam at his school, 11 am today:

me:  Adam, I am going to the barber shop today for my hair cut.  Do you want me to bring you home muna or do you want to go with me in the barber shop?

Adam:  I don't like to go home now, I like to go with you.

me:  OK. (aba, happy naman ako that he wants to stick with me)

me:  You see that is one barber shop (me pointing to Nilo's Barber Shop), but I cannot go there now because there is no parking space, and I cannot park on the streets.

Adam:  Yeah, you cannot park on the street because it will block the traffic.

(He picked up that idea from me; the day before, I explained to him about the "No Parking" signs along Lopez avenue; it is illegal and it will block the traffic.)

me: Yeah, if I park on the streets, and if a policeman coes around, the policeman will tell me (now in a deep dramatic voice")- "Mr. Ani, you are violating the law, because you are parking on the street. Do you like to go to jail?"

Adam:  The policeman will say that you are blocking the traffic.

me:  Adam, do you want me to go to jail?  If I go to jail, nobody will bring you to school every day. (with a paawa effect)

Adam:  Someone will bring me to school.  My daddy will!

me: hahahaha.  (I am feeling disappointed na hindi siya naawa sa akin na I am in jail)

Adam:  If you are in jail and not available, my daddy will bring me to school. (said with big emphasis)

me:  Ok  (naawa naman ako sa sarili ko, kasi hindi siya maaawa sa akin maski nasa jail ako)

Then, we went to the Barbershop in Opal street, which has aircon and TV, Adam sat on the bench and he enjoyed watching the TV.  Then, after the haircut, we also talked about the two fire trucks, two ambulances, 2 rescue vehicles that are park in the barangay hall.

Masaya siya na mamasyal muna sa ibat ibang places after his school.  Ayaw umuwi agad.
